Hello, I'm Tania Weekes, the artist behind Tarniart — a visual expression of beauty, spirit, and the divine inspiration that flows through every brushstroke.

Art has been a guiding force in my life from as early as I can remember. What began as a childhood fascination has evolved into a lifelong devotion to capturing the profound beauty of creation through paint and canvas.

My primary medium is oil painting, often layered over acrylic underpainting. I’m drawn to oils for their rich texture and the way they allow colours to blend seamlessly, offering depth and nuance that bring each piece to life. Every painting I create is a spiritual journey — an attempt to reflect the divine spark that resides in all living things and to celebrate the sacred in the everyday.

Though born in Sydney, I now reside in Seaham, nestled in the serene Hunter region of New South Wales. Surrounded by nature’s quiet rhythm, I find daily inspiration in the landscape, light, and stillness — the perfect sanctuary for creativity to thrive.

Beyond my own artistic practice, I’m deeply passionate about sharing art’s transformative power with others. For several years, I’ve had the honour of teaching art, nurturing the creative potential in students of all ages. My creative contributions also include illustrating books, designing murals for local businesses in Newcastle, and curating art retreats and workshops that build community and encourage self-expression.

Tarniart is more than just a collection of works — it’s an invitation to see, feel, and experience the divine beauty within and around us. Through my art, I hope to inspire, uplift, and connect with the soul of every viewer.
